• 3 attractive living areas: living room, dining room with table to seat 8 (extra chairs to squeeze in another 2), Polish-style leisure room with an open fire. Lots of space for a small group of people or a family or two.
• 5 bedrooms to sleep 10 adults, 1 child, plus optional additional 2 on sofa bed although never that comfortable or convenient on a convertible bed
• Almost all rooms have access to balconies. The main lower balcony has an outdoor table and chairs and charcoal BBQ

The setting for the holiday house to rent

This holiday rental accommodation is located on the edge of Rabka Zdroj which is a sprawling town of around 15,000 inhabitants built around a central health park with impressive trees.

The best aspects of a holiday in Rabka are the wonderfully scenic walks and relaxed atmosphere; hill walks, woodland walks, walks in the national parks.

Getting to the holiday rental accommodation

The nearest airport is Krakow Balice Airport (John Paul II airport ).

There are various scheduled airlines and cheap operators offering a good choice of flights. Book in advance for best prices.

A car is almost essential but certainly necessary to get the most out of a holiday here. The taxi fare from Krakow to the house is about £40.

Car hire can be as little as £170 per week. We have had good experiences with all car rental operators from Krakow Airport. Cars can be booked in advance and picked up at the airport for a convenient drive to the house. An automatic will make driving on the right-hand side of the road easier for you.

Self-catering holidays near Zakopane

One of the nice things about a holiday in the Zakopane area of Poland is that your money stretches a long way. Eating out, skiing and most things you do are inexpensive compared to the UK.

The highland style restaurants, e.g. Pod Chmurka and Siwy Dym in Rabka and others in Zakopane and neighbouring towns, offer good food or amusing evening experiences with dance, song and food with a regional Highland flavour.

The countryside and National Parks

This area is rich in national parks. The Tatrzanski National Park near Zakopane is only 40km away but there are several others nearer.

Enjoy the plentiful wildlife including deer, red squirrels. There are still wild boar and bears to be found in the Tatra mountains.

Birdwatching is great - the countryside is relatively unpoiled with extensive natural forests.
