5 bedroom house rental for a superb self-catering holiday in southern Poland

A self-catering holiday in southern Poland with a variety of options

zakopane holidaysOur 5 bedroom holiday home is set in the spa town of Rabka Zdroj, surrounded by the scenic Gorce hills. The historic and colourful former capitol of Poland, Krakow (or Cracow) is an hour to the north, the large ski resort of Zakopane is 35 minutes south. Both of these offer lots of places to visit, nightlife, shopping and restaurants.

Other popular tourist attractions are the Holocaust memorial at Auschwitz, the Wieliczka salt mines, castles, John Paul II papal tour, and many others all within an hour's drive.

Nearer to home in Rabka, visitors are invited to partakeof the 'waters' and experience various therapeutic treatments. There are several beauty therapists for a little indulgence, a good range of walks and restaurants. It's a good place to experience the Polish way of life and meet the locals. Scenery is the main star in Rabka with the best walking holiday experience, quad bikes, horse riding and other outdoor activities all in a safe holiday destination. The winter months bring skiing and ice skating.

Poland is absolutely fabulous for families because so many activities are less expensive than back home in the UK or the States. It's also a relatively safe holiday destination although health and safety legislation does not apply to the degree as it does in other countries. For example, we have seen people riding horses without helmets, children wandering alone in the woods. It's all very nice and a world away from society in many other parts of the world.

Southern Poland is a great destination all year round. There are plenty of festivals and folk culture to entertain and amuse with a self-catering holiday at Christmas, New Year, Easter and many dates associated with saints days.
